Signs of spring we have seen thus far:

• Sandhill cranes
• Red-winged blackbirds
• Killdeers
• Skunks and racoons, dead on the road
• Lady beetles on all of our windows
• Two stupid geese standing on the still-ice-covered mill pond
• The cardinals flirting with each other at the feeder
• Sap is running
