Drama

This morning was horrendous. One of those days were both kids were cranky, sleepy, angry, sassy and downright not-fun-to-be-around. I'm blaming daylight-saving time and the endless winter mixed with a case of 3-year-old drama.

Today, it started when Gabe coulnd't find some pirate toy he was looking for, which led to tears, which led to whining, which lead to Mom and Dad yelling, which led to timeouts, spankings, more tears and more yelling. Coming to work today was actually a relief.

Not the glorious side of parenting ... that's for sure. No wonder I'm developing a caffeine addiction.

On a happier note, I saw a pair of sandhill cranes this morning. They looked quite foolish, standing on one leg out in the corn field, bracing themselves against the March wind and sleet storm. I bet they're wondering which idiot sandhill decided it was spring and time to migrate ...
