First Steps

Ada walked this weekend.

I know every parent is amazed at this milestone, but I feel it's a little more special in Ada's case because it's taken 17 months to get here. Unlike her brother, who whizzed through milestones faster than I can breathe, Ada has taken her good ol' time.

We were finishing up the kids' baths on Saturday night. I took Ada out of the tub first, dried her off, set her down on the floor and off she went. She took a couple of steps, which she's been doing for about a month, and just kept going all the way into Gabe's room. I laughed and told Al, "Look! She's still going!"

Our little bare-bottomed girl toddling across the floor ... what a beautiful sight!
