So, I had a not-so-fabulous idea last night. I thought I'd introduce Gabe to voting ... to fulfilling our patriotic duty ... to homespun, grassroots politics. Hear, hear! Here's how it went:
Gabe and I entered the town hall (which includes some very 1960s wood paneling and green carpeting), and I proceeded to tell Gabe what "voting" means.
Me: So, voting means we get to pick who we want in charge. Does that make sense?
Gabe: In charge of what?
Me: You know, the person who's the leader, who makes decisions. Um, the one that you like the best? Understand?
Gabe: Not really.
Me: (sigh ...) You know, like would you pick Darth Vadar or Yoda if you were having a battle?
So there you go ... I've reduced American politics to a Star Wars analogy. I guess it's a good thing 3-year-olds don't have the right to vote ...
