Finders-Keepers

When you live with kids, you never know what you're going to find when you open a drawer/cabinet/closet/whatever. Take this morning, for example:

Al went to put on a pair of shoes that had been sitting in the closet for who-knows-how-long. (And, by the way, we've already learned to check inside our shoes before putting our feet in them.) Al pulled out a plastic bunch of bananas from his left shoe.

Al's hair brush has been missing for weeks. I found it under our bed this past weekend, and I guarantee you the culprit was less than 4 feet tall.

I opened my pots-and-pans cabinet one day only to find Darth Vadar sitting in the soup kettle.

Ada's Nuks? I've found those in the toy box, under the couch, in my purse, and elsewhere.

So the fact that we've "lost" Gabe's most collectible Star Wars figurine doesn't worry me too much. I'm sure it'll show up sometime ... just somewhere we'd never expect. Like in the refrigerator ...
